Support for Coaching Supervision
Brian, Thank you for this article and your candor about your experience. I have longed thought that the field of coaching should have supervision and some of the methods and tools from clinical work are relevant. There is a big area of overlap in the clinical and coaching worlds. Before my corporate experience, I was originally trained as a clinician and found that that training has been invaluable to me in a number of ways: giving me a good grasp of group dynamics, an awareness of my own history and makeup and how that can play out in my work, and working with the concepts of transference and counter-transference is invaluable. I look forward to pursuing my own supervision training. Best, Susan Shaner, PCC
